Medford and the surrounding Rogue Valley are full of great places to explore with your pup. Whether you're a local or thinking about making Medford home - here are some favorite dog parks, trails, and pet friendly spots to check out.
Off Leash Dog Parks
Bear Creek Park Dog Run – Right in the heart of Medford, this dedicated off leash area is fenced and shaded, with water stations and space to roam. The rest of Bear Creek Park is a great place for a leashed walk afterward.
Hawthorne Park Dog Park – Just off East Jackson, Hawthorne Park has a smaller off leash area that’s great for a quick energy burn. It’s conveniently located near downtown Medford for an urban outing with your pup.
Fichtner-Mainwaring Park – While the off leash space isn’t fenced, this quieter park offers a more laidback experience for well behaved dogs and plenty of grass for fetch!
Pet Friendly Trails & Walks
Prescott Park / Roxy Ann Peak – A local favorite with beautiful views and a good workout. Dogs are welcome on leash, and there are several loop options depending on your energy level (or your dog’s).
Bear Creek Greenway – This multi use path stretches over 20 miles from Central Point to Ashland. It’s a great option for a scenic stroll or bike ride with your pup along the creek.
Cathedral Hills (Grants Pass) – Just a short drive away and well worth it. Shaded forest trails, a peaceful vibe, and plenty of places for dogs to sniff and explore. Leashes required.
Pet Friendly Patios & Local Spots
Common Block Brewing Co. – This downtown Medford favorite has a spacious outdoor patio where dogs are welcome. Water bowls, shade, and friendly staff make it a go to for dog owners grabbing lunch or a drink.
Buttercloud Bakery – A great stop for breakfast or lunch with your pup by your side. Their small patio is dog friendly, and you might even score a piece of bacon for your furry companion.
Walkabout Brewing Company - Your pup will love hanging out "in The Outback" at Walkabout. They offer rotating beers and tasty stone fired pizzas. Outdoor tables, water bowls, dog friendly vibe - what's not to love?
